What’s the buzz when it comes to mosquito control

Mosquitoes are one of the most prevalent of winged insects, and one of the most irritating. In many species, mouthparts have been adapted to allow them to pierce the skin of animal hosts, including human beings. Their bite generally causes an itchy, low-level swelling; sometimes more severe reactions can occur. Equally, or more important, is the ability of mosquitoes to act as disease carriers.
